Research Description:

Dr Yohan Bossé is a research scholar from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, co-director of the Respiratory Health Network Tissue Bank of the FRQS (i.e. the world largest lung tissues bank, www.rsr.chus.qc.ca) and one of the principal investigators of the international Lung eQTL Consortium (www.webmedcentral.com/article_view/724). He is the leader of an expanding research group using state-of-the-art technologies in genomics to identify genetic factors and molecular mechanisms leading to cardio-respiratory diseases. His research program focuses on two main themes: 1) genetics of calcific aortic valve stenosis, and 2) genomics of respiratory diseases including smoking-related lung diseases and asthma. His research activities are now expanding in the fields of lung cancer and personalized medicine. The overall goals of this research program are to identify relevant human genes implicated in these chronic and complex diseases, improve our understanding of the diseases processes, and find new molecular targets to treat patients suffering from these disorders.
